Sunsetting Old API Endpoint

TLDR: You are unaffected if you use api.memomeister.com or a mobile app version > 2.36.

To ensure our systems' reliability and security, we have planned the end date of the old API endpoint web.memomeister.com/v2/graphql and the migration date of the web app to the new systems. In the last blog post from late April, we already discussed this a little and estimated that we are doing that in the summer months. As the Summer is already a few months ago, this hasn't happened yet. In the meantime, we internally rerouted the traffic from the old endpoint to the new endpoint so we could shut down the old services behind it without disrupting users.

But now we are at a point where we want to migrate the web.memomeister.com domain to its new system, which will improve reliability and reduce the risk of future outages, even if they are small.

We plan to migrate it on 24-25th December 2024. During that maintenance window, which starts on 21:00 and ends on 04:00 CET, the web app might not be (fully) available for some time.

What does that mean for me?

As we already contacted those who used the old endpoint months ago, everything will stay the same for you. Only a couple of users who use an almost 2-year-old mobile app version will have trouble after that change. So please make sure you do not have a version > 2.36.
